Amala Paul is a malayalam film actress, but primarily works on Tamil film industry. She becomes popular after her spectacular performance in the Tamil film Mynaa. This film brought her into the place of leading actress in Tamil film. She started her carrier by doing some supporting characters in low budget ventures, but gradually reaches the place of leading upcoming actress in the films mainly in Tamil. She started her debut in Malayalam, but migrated to Tamil and Telugu in search of good more opportunities.
Early life of Amala Paul
Amala Paul was born on October 26 1991 in Ernakulum as the daughter of Christian Malayalee parents, Paul Varghese and Annice Paul. She completed her plus two education on Nirmala higher secondary school Aluva. Amala Paul had life time ambition to become an actress from her child hood. After completing plus two educations she took a break to pursue engineering, but this break provide her career in films. Her father really opposed her decision to pursue acting as career, and sent her to St. Teresa's college for pursuing BA in English. Amala Paul's elder brother Abijith support her to achieve her goal to become actress, and forced their dad to approve her decision. Amala Paul was born with artistic background. Her father was a drama artist in the college days and her mother had a passion over singing. Amala changed her name to Anakha by the advice of the director Swamy, but reverted back after the failure of the film Sindhu Samaveli.

Amala Paul took a gap after completing plus two to take Engineering as career. At the same time she also takes part in the modeling. Film director Lal Jose has spotted Amala from the modeling profile and invite her to be a part of his remake film Neelathamara as a supporting character. This was the first entry for this upcoming actress into film industry. However the role failed to provide a notable profile for her. Anyhow she was not ready to break up her career in film and migrated into Tamil film industry. She signed for a low budget comedy film Vikada Kavi, but the release was delayed. Along with this film Amala Paul also signed for another low budget film Veera Shekharan. This film is considered as her debut film in Tamil. But the role in that film have not provided a notable character and labeled her as a minimal performer. The next film she signed was Swamy's Sindhu Samaveli. The role was a controversial one and the film ended in a flop. But Amala was not ready to accept the failure and worked hard in the next film Mynaa which is a grant success and erases all the allegations and gossips from her.

Amala Paul has bagged number of awards from Tamil industry after get successful hit of Mynaa, a romantic drama film. This film cites her as best debutant of the year and other popular award from various organizations. She got most of awards for the romantic drama Mynaa which fetched her Amrita-FEFKA Film Awards Best Actress in Tamil, Edison Awards for Best New Face, MGR-Sivaji Awards for Best New Actress, Vijay Awards for Best Débutante. In 2012 she baged Jaya Awards Youth Female Icon of the Year for Deiva Thirumagal.
