Her career as a child artist gave her a big boost to move forward with the Kollywood life. Rima is basically born and living at Thrissur in Kerala. Later when she grew up, she completed her high schooling from Chinmaya Vidhyalaya in Thrissur.
Rima moved ahead and completed her bachelor's degree from a reputed college in field of journalism. Then she thought of contesting herself for the acting career. She had the initial tough phase for making her career in film industry, but her life phase turned around when she contested herself in Miss Kerala pageant in 2008 where she was declared runner's up. None the less, even that title was quite enough for her to make her way to movies. She moved ahead to Bangalore to start her career as a model and was successful in doing it. She finally made her first entry in the Malayalam movie- Ritu in 2009 and was offered the role of lead female actress. The movie went really good and Rima got noticed in the eyes of all the people. In the same year, she was offered another two films named- Kerala Café and Neelathaamara which got her tremendous attention in the south Indian cinema industry.
Her career as an actress was touching high peaks when she again appeared in a popular South Indian magazine's cover photo. Those made her register her name among all the people around the southern globe. The year 2010 came welcoming for her with one superb offer of Malayalam movie role- Happy Husbands. The movie went superhit across the Malayalam cinema houses and runned for continuous 90 days in the theatres. She later did a movie – Best of Luck where she played a subordinate role and got a huge round of appreciation for her work. In the year 2010, she was categorically named among the top 10 Kollywood actresses for that phase of time. The ultimatum of her career as acting was on a peak when she ended her year topping and contesting among big actresses all time round.

Her first movie of the year came as a Malayalam movie – City of God, where she was accredited with huge round of applause from all round. The particular movie was real hit in the cinema houses because of the fantastic work of lead actress Rima who undertook some fantastic scenes in the movie. Then she did her second movie as an entry into the Tamil world. Yes, that's right, she did her debut in 2011 in Tamil films and her movie – Ko was acknowledged by all. Her next three Malayalam movies of the year were – Shankaranum Mohananum, Sevenes and Indian Rupee. All three went gold for her as she was being started to get nominated for various films for her work.
The year 2011 was again a super hit year for her because not only her movies became a blockbuster, but also her name and fame started spreading across worldwide and she started receiving ad promos and promotional calls from all around India. Her tamil movie – Yuvan Yuvathi called for super hit even before it was released. Therefore the anticipation was huge and therefore it again turned super hit.
In the year, 2012 she is currently being associated to act in 10 movies which are all Malayalam films. Earlier in the year, her movie – Nidra and 22 Female Kottayam both went back to back blockbusters for her, as she was awarded for her roles in the movie.
