Sheela (Malayalam: ഷീല) is a Malayalam film actress from India. She, along with Prem Nazir, holds the world record for acting in the largest number of films (107) together as heroine and hero. In 2005 she won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the Malayalam film Akale.

Early life
Sheela was born in a Syrian Catholic Christian family in Trissur. Her real name was Clara.Sheela is a Malayalam film actress from India.She was born in March 22, 1945 in Thrissur. She holds, along with Prem Nazir, the Guinness book record for acting in the largest number of films (107) together consecutively. In 2005 she won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the Malayalam film Akale.

Sheela's career as an actress began as a substitute in a play organised by railway employees. Sheela made her debut in `Paasom' opposite MGR. Her first film in Malayalam was `Bhagyajathakom,' with Satyan.

The next two decades saw her essay roles in more than 410 films in films such as `Chemeen,' `Kallichellama,' and `Vazhve Mayom.' She has won many awards such as Kerala State awards, the Lux award (five times), and the Filmfare Life Achievement award.

Sheela was married to Tamil actor Ravichandran who later divorced, she has a son George, who is a actin in Tamil serials.

In the 70s and 80s, Sheela's tried her hand at directing as well. She directed two films, `Yakshaganom' and `Shikarangal'. She wrote the story, script and screenplay for 'Shikharangal', which was also remade in Tamil. Besides films, she has directed a tele-film `Ninaivukale neengividu' in which Jayabharati acted.
Sheela returned to silverscreen playing main role in Sathyan Anthikkadu's "Manassinackare". The film was a huge hit, with Sheela receiving great reviews for her performance. She is currently active in movies as well as television.

Sheela returned to acting, playing main role in Sathyan Anthikkad's Manassinakkare. The film was a huge hit, and her performance was critically acclaimed. Sheela bagged the Kerala State Film Award for best supporting actress in the film Akale.

Sheela was married to Tamil actor Ravichandran who later divorced. She has a son George, who acts in Tamil serials.Sheela is a very much loved great actress of Malayalam but she has acted in all other South Indian Languages also.In Malayalam she has acted in more than 410 film all in main roles.Her name is entered in Guinness Book of World records for acting as pair for the same Hero in largest number of films-which she made this world record with Prem Nazir and both of them were pair in 107 films.
Sheela was born on 24 Mar 1945 as 'Clara Abraham' and her father was a railway employee.After her Father's death she entered in to films and the debut film was 'Pasam' which was an MGR film.She entered Malayalam with the film 'Bhagya Jathakam' opposite to Sathyan.As the name of the first film suggests her entry to Malayalam was a Bhagya Jathakam to herself as well as Malayalam film field also to get such a capable and versatile actress.She has got typical significant way of dialogue presentation  and vivid voice quality to impress the audience and in  all her films her own voice was always used.She was lucky to act with all eminent Stars like Prem Nazir,Sathyan,Madhu,Kamal Hassan,Rajani Kanth etc.
While most of her films with Prem Nazir were successful at the Box Office and mainly entertainers with melodious songs and sequences several of her films with Sathyan were block busters which were having serious and sentimental stories.She got wide appreciation for her role as 'Karuthamma' in the President's Gold Medal Award winner film 'Chemmeen' directed by 'Ramu Kariatt'.The story was based on the novel written in the same name by 'Njan Peett" award holder 'Thakazhy Sivasankara Pillai'.The helpless and worried young lady in between the husband and lover was fantastically acted by Sheela by brilliant face expressions.
